Writing- Finished writing and illustrating personal narratives. I can’t wait to read them all!

Reading- Discussed inferences using pictures and text, and the elements of fiction stories. They buddy read with a partner to analyze the characters, plot, setting, problem, and solution of a story.

Math- Addition and subtraction strategies, and place value. Students practiced expanded form and written number form by “buying” a car and writing a check, and ordering the cars values from least to greatest.

Science- We learned about mixtures by creating our own trail mix. Thank you to everyone who donated towards this! The students had so much fun sorting the trail mix by physical properties. Students discussed what is/ isn’t a mixture and came up with examples of mixtures that we see in everyday life.

Social studies- Learned about the executive branch and took a virtual tour of the white house.

ESLOT- Students used the engineering design cycle to create a paintbrush with various structures and functions out of given materials. Then they tested out their paintbrushes!
